As a resident company of SKYPAC, Ramsey Theatre Company is thrilled to introduce our touring theatre program for young audiences; a community-oriented initiative aimed at bringing the joy of theatre directly to schools, organizations, and community centers.

Our AcTOURS productions are available to travel to your area and perform for students and families. Introduce the value of performing arts and comprehensive storytelling without interrupting your school day schedule. By using professional actors, first-rate set pieces and costumes through the Ramsey Theatre Company, we are opening access to high quality performances that promote learning and engagement, all in the proximity of your classroom.

Vexing Verses

Tour Dates: late September – through October

Description: (Play)

Step into the shadowy world of Edgar Allan Poe in this new production crafted especially for student and teacher audiences. A 45-minute interactive production inspired by the impactful literary works and legacy of Edgar Allan Poe. This performance explores the eerie, the mysterious, and the macabre—perfect for the Halloween season and literature lovers alike.

- A single show in one venue: $800
- Two (2) performances in one venue: $1,200
- Travel fee: $1 per mile (roundtrip from SKYPAC)
- Venue must be available for load-in and load-out of production materials approximately one-hour before and after performance time.

Auditions

Vexing Verses – Open Auditions
Presented by: Ramsey Theatre Company

This is for the inaugural production within our professional theatre for young audiences’ program, AcTOURS.

We are holding auditions for our upcoming original production of Vexing Verses. We invite local and regional actors of all backgrounds and experience levels to audition. This is a professional touring production for young audiences. Two roles are available (any gender); seeking non-equity actors, age 18+, able to portray ages 16 – 30. Actors will be paid through a contracted stipend.

Actors of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body types, abilities, backgrounds are encouraged to audition/submit.

Requirements:

  • availability – early morning to afternoon; during September – October months.
  • the ability to independently commute to rehearsals in the Bowling Green, KY area
  • valid Driver’s License required
  • proof of car insurance
  • if cast; a background check will be processed

Audition Date:

Saturday, July 19, 2025
Open Call Audition Window: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Location: SKYPAC – 601 College Street, Bowling Green
Room: Rehearsal Room One

What to prepare:

  • A monologue is provided here, but you may prepare your own monologue
  • You are provided sides from the script, prepare to read for either character
  • Pre-screening is available (to read monologues and sides). Headshot, resume, and audition material can be submitted via email; dgodolphin@theskypac.com

Note: Sides (linked here) should be read with an off-camera reader when pre-screening

  • Any actor that is unable to attend in-person auditions, please submit through the pre-screening link

Character Breakdown:

  • Alex – intellectual, focused, and passionate about the subject
  • Frankie – unfocused, humorous and witty, jovial

Callbacks and Casting:

  • Callbacks – (if needed) will be Sunday, July 20th from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, at SKYPAC
