Larry, Steve & Rudy, the Gatlin Brothers are Grammy award-winners who have dazzled audiences for 70 years. Their storybook career includes a Grammy for Best Country Song (“Broken Lady”), three ACM Awards (Single of the Year, Album of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year), and five CMA nominations. They’ve earned 7 #1 Singles, 32 Top 40 Records, 24 Studio Albums, and 5 BMI “Million-Air” Awards.

As a solo writer, Larry ranks 4th on Billboard’s list of top 40 self-penned hits. His songs have been recorded by Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Glen Campbell, Kris Kristofferson, Sir Tom Jones, Dottie West, Charlie Rich, Johnny Mathis, and many others. He was recently inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

For nearly seven decades, the Gatlin Brothers have performed around the world — from the Grand Ole Opry to Carnegie Hall — and appeared on stages such as the Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, and People’s Choice Awards. Television credits include The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Hee-Haw, Love Boat, Oprah, The Merv Griffin Show, Solid Gold, and their own ABC special.

In 1976, their success skyrocketed with “Broken Lady,” followed by signature hits like “All the Gold in California” and “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer to You).” More #1 hits followed: “I Don’t Wanna Cry,” “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love,” “Statues Without Hearts,” “Love Is Just a Game,” and “Night Time Magic.” Larry also wrote and produced Quanah, a musical staged in 2017 to rave reviews.

They’ve performed at the White House, Reagan Library, Air Force One, Camp David, Lincoln Theater, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and Disney World, and shared the stage with Kenny Rogers, Vince Gill, Rascal Flatts, the Oak Ridge Boys, and more. They’ve entertained U.S. troops in Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Germany, and across the U.S., and sung the National Anthem at major sporting events including the World Series, U.S. Open, and the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Their musical journey began in Abilene, Texas in 1955. Larry, Steve, and Rudy grew up singing gospel music and recorded four gospel albums early in their career. Larry’s songwriting career took off after encouragement from Dottie West, who introduced him to Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster at Monument Records. His debut album The Pilgrim featured liner notes from Johnny Cash, who gave him the nickname that stuck.

The brothers officially came together as a group in 1975 and have remained a musical force ever since. Today, they continue to perform approximately 40 concerts a year, plus 30 appearances at the Grand Ole Opry.

“We are blessed that fans still love our music & attend our shows,” says Steve. “We hope to continue as long as that’s the case.”
