About the Public Art Invitational

Public art brings creativity outside, adding character and beauty to city streets and shared spaces. Outdoor sculpture fosters community identity and provokes thought by bringing art out of museums and into everyday life creating landmarks, promoting social dialogue, and reflecting collective values, history, and diversity.

This outdoor exhibition includes sculptures installed in prominent locations throughout Bowling Green and will serve as focal points of broader revitalization efforts within the City of Bowling Green and Warren County.

The City of Bowling Green, Kentucky and the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKYPAC) invite artists to submit existing sculptures or proposals for new works to be created for installation across outdoor public spaces throughout Bowling Green, KY.

Artists are encouraged to submit either completed works or new concepts, this exhibition is designed to support both.

Location & Sites

Selected artworks will be installed on City of Bowling Green and Warren County–owned properties, including but not limited to Circus Square Park, the Chamber Walk, Capitol Alley, and various recreational parks throughout Bowling Green, Kentucky. Final site assignments will be determined by the Public Art Selection Committee in coordination with the City of Bowling Green, Warren County, and SKYPAC.
