It’s time to celebrate!  You’re invited to an afternoon of family entertainment at the third annual SKyPAC Community Day, sponsored by J.M. Smucker Company.  Make sure to block Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 1pm to 5pm on your calendar as a FREE and FUN for EveryONE event.

Performances by local musicians, art demonstrations, hands on activities, art exhibits, a scavenger hunt, SKyPAC SNAP SHOOT with props, visits from the Hot Rods Mascots and WKU’s Big Red will make it a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family.

This year’s genres are many, including a capella, blues, classic rock, country, gospel and jazz.  Join us for any, or all, of the performances below…

SKyPAC – Main Stage

Spend some time observing their craft or chat with them to find out about their motivation and processes.  Perhaps they will leave you so inspired that you will want to create your own masterpieces.

In addition, SKyPAC, with the help of local art educators, will offer children’s art Photo Credit: Alison Houkactivities where kids can create their own work of art, offering both learning opportunities and creative expression while having fun.

Do you like looking for things?  Find architectural and Kentucky facts related to SKyPAC’s building features located throughout the Lobby, Main and Children’s Galleries.   Identify all of the items, collect all of the gold stars and win a prize.

With all of this going on, you will probably get hungry.  Pack a picnic lunch or better yet, visit one of the food vendors – Rapid Rick’s and Froggy’s Food Truck – that will be on-site.  Once you have your grub, grab some space on the corner, grassy knoll, enjoy the spring weather and have a ball.

Whether for only an hour or for the whole event, just come because it is time to celebrate!  We’ll have random drawings throughout the day for tickets to SKyPAC, and gift certificate to local businesses.
