Bowling Green, KY (April 1, 2014) –Since opening its doors in 2012, the Southern
Kentucky Performing Arts Center has hosted a wide variety of top acts from Seinfeld to Willie Nelson. According to a poll taken by Kentucky Living, the state has noticed, naming SKyPAC, the Best Local Performing Arts Site in Kentucky for the “2014 Best of Kentucky” contest.
The annual survey asked subscribers of Kentucky Living magazine to rate the best of in a variety of categories that include top vacation spots to the best flea market stops across the state and even the best non-franchise barbecue sauce. SKyPAC shares the top spot for the Local Performing Arts Site with The Center for Rural Development in Somerset.
“It is a complete honor to have Kentuckians recognize SKyPAC as one of their favorites, said Executive Director, Jan Allan Zarr. “This is a designation that could not have been achieved without the faithful support of our patrons and donors. What a great reward for doing our best to live the vision of all of those who dreamed SKyPAC into reality and continue to serve community.”
Ever since the hall opened in the spring of 2012, with an unforgettable intimate performance by Vince Gill, SKyPAC has drawn top-notch talent to the region, offering a mixed bag of entertainment—from the closing performance of the musical “CATS” of its 30th anniversary US tour to a sold out concert of Kenny Loggins. Planning for the 2014-2015 season is underway and is expected to provide great entertainment options for the entire family.
