Equal Access at SKyPAC

The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC) is committed not only to being in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), but going beyond its requirements and taking to heart its intent by making our facility, performances, events and services accessible to everyone in the community.

Ticket Information

The SKyPAC Ticket Office staff is available to answer your questions and provide up-to-date information on performances and the dates tickets go on sale. The SKyPAC Ticket Office counter is at accessible height. To purchase tickets, call the SKyPAC Ticket Office at 270-904-1880 or online at theskypac.com

Accessible Seating

Accessible seating is reserved for use by patrons with disabilities, but may be released for general sale when all other locations in that price category are sold. If you are planning on transferring to a theater seat from a wheelchair or mobility device, please inform the ticket office when ordering your tickets so we may seat you in an appropriate and safe location. Fire safety codes do not allow wheelchairs or other mobility devices to obstruct aisles in case emergency situations arise.

Seating for wheelchair users and companions is available on all levels of the Main Hall, and more specifically:
Orchestra Level: Center Section, Row Q
Orchestra Level: House Right & House Left Box Seating
Mezzanine Level: House Right & House Left, Row H
Balcony Level: House Right & House Left, Row G

House Wheelchair Assistance

Upon arrival, SKyPAC ushers will be available to those who require wheelchair assistance from the Lobby to spaces and seats within the facility. SKyPAC has a limited number of wheelchairs, but will make every effort to accommodate those who request such service. If notified in advance with cell phone information, usher staff can also assist patrons using mobility devices into the theater when dropped off at the College Street entrance.

Social Story

In hopes of making your visit to SKyPAC a positive experience, we want to ensure you know what to expect when coming to our facility. These social narratives act as friendly guides, offering insights into the specific situations you might come across when you arrive for our events. We want to ensure that our visitors feel comfortable and ready to be a part of our shared experience.

Service Animals

“Service animals” will be accommodated at SKyPAC. The ADA regulations provide guidance relating to the definition of service animals, which states, “Service animals are defined as dogs [limited exception, miniature horses] that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities…work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.” Additionally, control of the service animal must be maintained “through voice, signal, or other effective controls” in order not to disrupt other patrons or performances. Loss of control of the animal by the patron, and the proven inability to regain control of that animal, may result in removal of the animal.

Access Without Steps

Equal access is available once inside the facility, either to wheelchair or mobility device seating, without the impediment of steps. An elevator is also available to those who wish to be above orchestra level.

Accessible Parking

In addition to public parking lots in the Bowling Green downtown area, a parking garage at College & 7th Streets, has in excess of 810 parking spaces. Accessible parking spaces for patrons with disabilities are available on the ground level of the garage.

Accessible Entrances

Entry into SKyPAC is via the double doors located on College Street – automatic openers are provided. One (1) public elevator provides access to all floors of the performing arts center. Elevator controls are provided in Braille. All restrooms have accessible stalls. Water fountains are situated throughout the facility at accessible heights.
